چکیده

Industrial wastewater discharges often contain high levels of organic matter and nutrients, which can lead to eutrophication constitute a serious hazard receiving waters aquatic life. The purpose this study was examine the efficacy using sequencing batch reactor (SBR) treat high-strength for removal both chemical oxygen demand (COD) nutrients (nitrogen phosphorus). At constant COD concentration approximately 1000 mg/L, effects cycle time (3 9 h) various C:N:P ratios (100:5:2, 100:5:1, 100:10:1, 100:10:2) were investigated four identical SBRs (R1, R2, R3, R4). According experimental data, significant removal, i.e., 90%, 98.5%, 84.8%, observed COD, NH3-N, PO43−-P, respectively, when at 3 h. Additionally, increased h, highest (95.7%), NH3-N (99.6%), PO43−-P (90.31%) accomplished. Also, in order comprehend primary impacts interactions among process variables, data statistically examined analysis variance (ANOVA) 95% confidence level, revealed that interaction C/N ratio, C/P ratio is removal. However, same found be insignificant Sludge volume index (SVI30 SVI10) sludge settleability studied, best settling R3 with SVI30 55 mL/g after Further evidence flocs present reactors came from an average SVI 30/SVI 10 = 0.70 h 0.60

Characteristics of MEG Removal from Industrial Wastewater by Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR)

Background: MEG is extensively applied in the sour gas industry as a hydrate inhibitor. It is toxic in oral drinking and serious injury or death may result from swallowing of pure ethylene glycol and poses a potential hazard to the environment through impact soil. Glycols are harmful to aquatic life. There is little information about the digestion of MEG in the aerobic reactor. Therefore, t...

Biological nutrient removal by a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) using an internal organic carbon source in digested piggery wastewater.

Experiments in a lab-scale SBR were conducted to demonstrate the feasibility of using an internal carbon source (non-digested pig manure) for biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal in digested piggery wastewater. The internal C-source used for denitrification had similar effects to acetate. 99.8% of nitrogen and 97.8% of phosphate were removed in the SBR, from an initial content in the feed...

Removal of veterinary antibiotics from sequencing batch reactor (SBR) pretreated swine wastewater by Fenton's reagent.

The large-scale application of veterinary antibiotics in livestock industry makes swine wastewater an important source of antibiotics pollution. This work investigated the degradation of six selected antibiotics, including five sulfonamides and one macrolide, by Fenton's reagent in swine wastewater pretreated with sequencing batch reactor (SBR). The dosing mode and practical dosage of Fenton's ...

Nitrogen Removal from Wastewater by a Sequencing Batch Reactor

Sequencing batch reactor (SBR) is one of several periodically operated, suspended-growth activated sludge system. It has an advantage for nitrogen removal which is difficult to remove with conventional system. This paper reviewed the nitrogen removal performance in SBR for several different industrial wastewaters and discussed the factors which may affect the treatment performance. Several modi...

Evaluation of the Performance of Advanced Sequencing Batch Reactor Biological Processes in the Removal of Nutrients from Municipal Wastewater in Yazd City: A Case Study

Background and Objectives: Advanced Sequencing batch reactors (SBR) are one of the most suitable modified activated sludge systems. Due to low cost, optimal efficiency, and easy operation, they are recognized as an effective biological treatment system. The purpose of this study was to determine the performance of the SBR biological process in the removal of organic matter and nutrients from Ya...
